Round Mountain Girls

The Watering Hole Perranporth Beach, Perranporth, Cornwall, United Kingdom

Round Mountain Girls wrapped up 2016 supporting The Levellers in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne and impressed them so much that they got an invite to this year’s Beautiful Days Festival. They opened 2017 with a new album, a national tour of their homeland and a main stage slot at Australia’s iconic Bluesfest (Byron Bay) sharing the stage with Santana, Jethro Tull, Buddy Guy and Zac Brown. They’ve been keeping some pretty heavyweight company recently and now they’re heading to the UK for the very first time, having bludgeoned their way to the top of the Australian festival scene. If Mumford and Sons, The Pogues and Metallica had a threeway lovechild it would be a Round Mountain Girl. With four albums behind them, and coined in the press as the ‘finest purveyors of Celtabillypunkfolkrootsgrass in the southern hemisphere’, they are capable of taking you to places you didn’t know existed. Fast and furious, tender and humourous, great playing, great songs. You’ll forget you’ve got a mortgage, forget your dog’s just died and that the ice caps are melting as you get carried along on the wave of euphoria they generate. FREE ENTRY Schedule 9:00pm – Round Mountain Girls

Motown Pirates

The Watering Hole Perranporth Beach, Perranporth, Cornwall, United Kingdom

The happy band of musical pirates is fronted by Liz with occasional guest/dep singer Jay, professional singers who have international experience with various chart topping bands including The Drifters, Mirage, The Four Tops) as well as being genetically perfect in all ways. Well endowed by a fantastic brass twosome on trumpet and trombone (Chris and MJ) the band invoke the spirit of Motown whilst easily slipping in and out of 70’s funky disco and 80’s dance classics. Driving the Motown bus is Zena, small but perfectly formed drummer extraordinaire and horizontally laid back (aren’t they all?) bass player Nicky. The line up is completed by the nimble fingered duo of ‘fingers’ Alex on guitar. Oh, and did we mention that all the band sing too? This makes the Motown Pirates quite unique as you really ain’t heard nothing like all of them in full flow – harmonies anyone? Put simply, The Motown Pirates are not just a band of astonishing musicians but a whole ‘experience’ and they guarantee to get you dancing – or your money back!
