“I can’t begin to tell you how excited I am. I get to play my songs in some of the most beautiful places in England, and I’m bringing my dog on her first ever tour.” HOLIDAY OSCAR
During the demise of previous outfit Big Sixes, guitarist Charlie started writing his own tracks whilst adopting the Holiday Oscar nom de plume.
Picking up plenty of love from blogs and Spotify for last year’s self-produced and self-released tracks Carousel, Nicholas and Teething Powder which highlighted an uncanny ability to draw on his own experiences, creating an intriguing catalogue of songs.
Wry observations, very much taken from everyday, modern life enveloped in a familiar and warm 70’s folk sound is the backdrop for much of the new material. Self-reflective story telling combined with beautifully composed arrangements has seen HOLIDAY OSCAR emerge from a productive year and the onset of 2018 portrays a visual montage of life since the the advent of the mobile phone in the accompanying video for new track; I Can’t Keep On Checking My Phone
